Orleans Saltbox

A 1960’s Cape house with a classic saltbox roof form, this whole home renovation transformed the house inside and outside. An older sunroom was replaced and slightly expanded, adjacent to an expanding kitchen footprint. New cedar shakes, new roofing, replacement windows, a newly expanded deck, and an outdoor shower prepared this second home to become the primary residence for my retired and semi-retired parents. With small changes for big impacts, the house was transformed through a careful renovation (see before photos at bottom of page!); with minimal wall and window relocations, but maximum impact on increasing connection to a beautiful garden.
